Sponsorship being easy to get is surely a good thing in todays economic climate.
I guess (and thisn aint official) that new domains will have the same starting point whereas an older domain may offer advantages thus giving an advantage to a participant purely on the age of their domain hoard.

So, in the spirit of respecting the sponsor, why not buy a new domain through blacknight and enter.

The answer to your question is:

The older the domain the better chance of getting to the top due to already build trust, popularity and links....

As you can see already, in www.google.ie , older domains are shifting the result straight away in the SERPs for the "Geansai Gorm" search term.

Getting a new domain, means you are starting from scratch, making it a fair competition.

jayses, Michele gets around! you can't have a little competition without BlackNight jumping in. I'd like a little clarification of the justification behind some of the rules. Just for curiosity's sake. For example, why must the domain be new?
